Be gracious with yourself.

Many of us have had the opportunity to spend more time at home and in the saddle this year. This means new riding goals! I have also had the opportunity to ride more and am setting new goals to grow and learn with my horse.

Recently I had the realization (again!) that it can be HARD to be gracious with ourselves! I found myself having a much easier time being gracious with others and my horse. BUT, when I have to be gracious with myself, it can be a challenge. Why?!

My specific situation was a training exercise that my horse was doing perfectly, but I was not able to do my job as a rider. I was frustrated and prayed for guidance. It came to me that I wasn't being gracious with MYSELF! These scriptures helped me realize that I was not truly living my best Christ like self without starting with accepting the grace given to me.

‘But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’ 2 Cor 12:9

‘But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.’ Ephesians 4:7

Is there something you're going through that requires you to be gracious with yourself? Take some time to reflect on these scriptures and ask God to guide you.

Blessings,
Amy
